Prometheus Re-Watch, Part II
Another thing that continues to bother me with this movie is the sheer stupidity and unscientific-like nature of the lead male protagonist (not David, but the guy who looks like Dane Cook a little (Charlie, I think)). He’s supposed to be one of the smart ones, yet he comes across a little frat-boyish AND he constantly does things unscientific. Removing his helmet in a completely alien world (as if he’s never heard of airborne pathogens), not waiting until there’s more daylight hours, etc.
Scientists require patience. Scientific exploration requires patience and fortitude. He has neither.
It’s the small things that make this otherwise promising movie difficult to take more seriously.
