Two things:

  1. Really loving House of Cards, and Kevin Spacey is brilliant. The whole cast is pretty awesome.

  2. Super Smash Bros for 3DS just released a demo for Platinum Club Nintendo members (and the general populace on 9/19). So that’s what I’m doing from now until forever.

1a. Kevin Spacey is BRILLIANT.

There is a small island in the middle of Green Lake that I’ve always wanted to visit. Amanda and I went kayaking today on a double-kayak to check it out.

It was cool. It was also very creepy - certainly would have been if we had rowed out there at night.

If I were an adventurin’ man, and Amanda would say yes (she’s the wise one in the relationship and would undoubtedly say no), I would row out there at night and even consider camping. Clearly someone has.

We came across this really odd tent while there. The previous camper(s) dubbed the place Khaos Isle.

We also came across two bunnies, one white and one black (very LOST-reminiscent), so Amanda and I have taken to calling the place Bunny Isle.

It’s also where I was able to give her the real engagement ring I’ve been holding onto.

House of Cards

Just started, finally, watching House of Cards, with Amanda. I’ve been meaning to start it for some time, and I can definitely see the appeal. Kevin Spacey is, of course, amazingly dark and plotting.

A dedication plaque I found at Green Lake; it reminds me of Amanda’s dad.

I stayed up way too late reading 11/22/63, but it was worth it. Another book finished.

Blast from the past picture of Chloe chewing on this stuffed leopard that I got years ago when I updated my MacBook (then PowerBook I think) to OS X Leopard.

I’m not sure whatever happened to that thing.

Guh, one of those nights when I can’t quite fall asleep (even while listening to music) because my mind is too full of thoughts.

Might have to try reading a bit more; currently it’s 11/22/63 by Stephen King.

9.2.14

Jessica Williams needs her own show (though I’d also hate to see her leave The Daily Show.)
